One Of The Tales From The Files of Detective Jody McBrayer

Oh hello! My name is,Jody McBrayer. I'm the local detective here in Nashville,Tennessee. Face it,every town needs one! But anyway,I wasn't always the smart and intelligent detective I am today. It wasn't until three weeks ago that I got my first big break, let alone my first break at all. I remember it all so well...

I was home,in my office reading the newspaper when I heard a familiar voice at my door. I opened it to see my faithful partner,Janna Long. She was technically my 'squire' if you will, but she always seemed to know what was going on.

"Lovely to see you Janna."I said, allowing her inside. She was soaked to the toe.It was obviously storming and she was drenched. Now that's a real detective-like observation!

"Hey there Jody. Just heard some news. That lady down a few blocks said she saw something strange last night."Janna said, removing her rain slicker.

"Oh really?"I said, appearing intrigued."And what did she say she saw that was strange?"

"I don't know. She just said she saw something strange,so I thought I'd tell you. Maybe you should have a talk with her."Janna replied.

"Maybe I should...Yes!A real mystery!Let's go partner!"I exclaimed,then stopped suddenly when I realized I didn't know the address."Oh and Janna...what's the address?"

"Number 65....Rooster St."

As there was a loud thunder clap,I grinned broadly, grabbing my hat and coat and ran out the door,my trusty companion at my side.

We stole a ride in her snazzy little blue chevette, since my old rustbucket was still at the shop. The thing was kinda slow,so it took us a while to get there. When we arrived, there was a guy standin' in the median waving a flashlight at us. I gave Janna an odd look as I stepped out into the rain.

Since I was just now an amateur at this,I really had no idea of what to expect. But when the door to number 65 Rooster St. opened,I was shocked.

More to come soon!!!
